Ductal Carcinoma in Situ

In this stage of breast cancer, the cancer cells are found in the lining of the breast ducts. Ductal carcinoma is a treatable condition. If left untreated, it can spread to nearby tissues.

Invasive Ductal Carcinoma

When abnormal cells starts to develop in the milk ducts of breast and these cells can spread to other parts of breast. In this type of breast cancer abnormal cells of cancer can spread to other part of our body. This type also can affect men.

Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

The three most common receptors like growth estrogen, progesterone, and HER_2/neu gene, are not present in the tumor. It means that diagnosis of breast cancer is negative for growth factor receptor 2(HER_2), estrogen receptors, and progesterone receptor. About 10%-15% of breast cancer is triple-negative breast cancer.

Metastatic Breast Cancer;
When breast cancer spreads to all body parts is named metastatic breast cancer. This type of breast cancer is classified as a stage of breast cancer.

Causes Of Breast Cancer

Exact cause of breast cancer is not known but a list is given below that will guide us to know the cause breast cancer.
Age;
Age is the main factor that may be the cause of breast cancer. Getting older means that you are at high risk to get breast cancer mostly
women over 50 years have more chances to have breast cancer. In men this risk increases over the age of 60 years.

Menstrual Cycle;
Girls who starts their menstrual cycle very early before the age of 12 years these have a slightly chance to have breast cancer

Menopause;
It is a stage when menstrual cycle of a woman stopped permanently. The actual age of menopause is 45 years but in some women it increases upto 52 years and these have the more risk of having breast cancer.

Dense Breast Tissue

The breast density is calculated by comparing the amount of fat in the breast and the amount of breast tissue. If the amount of breast tissue is more than the amount of fat in the breast, it means you have dense breast tissue and have more risk of getting breast cancer.

Alcohol Consumption

Regular consumption of alcohol can increase the risk of breast cancer, so to reduce the risk of breast cancer, it is best to stop drinking altogether. If you do not stop drinking, reduce it.

Smoking;
Smoking increases the risk of having breast cancer especially the women who starts smoking in their early age.

Obesity
It has been shown that breast cancer can be caused by obesity. Obesity is the root cause of all diseases; if you are obese and have a menopause problem, that puts you at higher risk for breast cancer.

Contraceptive Pill

Taking a contraceptive pill increases the risk of having breast cancer, but the risk also disappears when you stop taking the pill.

Radiation;
Radiations are used in some clinical procedures like x.rays and ct scans. These procedures can enhance the risk of breast cancer.

Treatment Of Breast Cancer

There are different methods to treat a breast cancer patient but it depends on the stage and type of breast cancer. Methods of treatment are listed below.

Biological Therapy;
It works with the immune system of body and helps in fighting against cancer cells.

Hormonal Therapy;
Cancer cells need hormones to grow and supply of these hormones is blocked in this type of treatment.

Chemotherapy;
In this method of treatment special types of medicines are used to kill the cancer cells. Medicine may be in the form of pill or an injection that is injected into your veins or may be both according to the situation of the patient.
